Name / job / TGW location:
Simon Innerhuber / Manager Engineering Controls / Welas Park Wels, Austria
My latest online order:
I ordered a battery for a notebook from Amazon.
My job as a film title:
"Managing and planning the engineering"
My department as a flag: What does it look like?
The flag shows a robotic arm. The robot represents the controls engineering, the sensors and the cables; the arm represents order picking at the production lanes.
My job personality in three words:
Motivated, driven & exact
To me, TGW means ... :
Flexibility and autonomy.
Stairs or lift?
Stairs. A little exercise doesn't do any harm.
A potential new colleague should be open-minded and understand electrical and controls engineering, replies Simon Innerhuber when asked what the most important characteristics of somebody working in Engineering Controls are. "You learn a lot very quickly and your colleagues welcome you with open arms", Simon remembers his first weeks at TGW.
One the one hand, it is about being a role model for the seven colleagues reporting to me – on a professional level, but also in terms of being conscious of our responsibility and performance as a team. As a Manager Engineering Controls, I am the first contact for the project manager, I coordinate the tasks within the team and plan resources. On the other hand, my job is about operational tasks like planning the controls system of our installations. Our goal is to provide a good controls design for the installations as well as all parts and plans necessary for the colleagues on site.
That we allocate duties but do nothing ourselves. As a team leader, I am often working in the background, especially when it comes to resource planning and task assignment within the team. I try to integrate my operational tasks into my workday, which works well for me.
There are many benefits at TGW. For example, I get to work from home and handle projects on a flexible schedule. We are also offered many great leisure activities. I use the Activity Garden, for example, which is our multifunctional outdoor multi-purpose area, or the in-house gym.
Mistakes happen. So far, I learned that there is a solution for everything. This can also happen during as customer project. It is important to talk openly about it and find an alternative that works for everyone.
Digitalisation and automation are advancing, which means that there are always new programs. The technical questions and the engineering will remain more or less the same, but the framework and tools are improving. I want to make progress in my field and take every opportunity to deepen my knowledge even further.
